Dear People of Holy Innocents’,
How do Valerie and I adequately tell you what is in our hearts as I write this goodbye note? How do we sum up the myriad of experiences that have been ours during this short interim period of thirteen months? Well, there is no way to capture the full measure of our thoughts and feelings in a few words, except to say with profound gratitude -- "Thank you" -- for inviting us into your lives as you made transition to the next exciting chapters of mission and ministry with your new rector.
I hope you know what an extraordinary parish and school you are. The spirit, energy, diversity, and adventure of life on Mt. Vernon Highway is compelling. We have been touched by the wonderful faith and talents of the wardens, the Vestry, other lay leaders, the clergy, and the staff. It has been our privilege to share a small portion of your journey, and by the nature of interim ministry, we move on to what is next, with gratitude.
Profound thanks and in God's love to you always.
