SMALL GROUP OFFERINGS:
The Parables of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke:
The Rev. Buddy Crawford
The word parable literally means “cast alongside.” The parables of Jesus are sometimes only a few sentences long and other take up nearly an entire chapter in one of the gospels. Jesus uses these stories “cast alongside” a truth that help explain that truth, and in doing so to help us see the intersection of the human with the divine. This class will explore the parables and how they shake up our preconceived ideas, allowing us to know a little about the reign of God.
Faith & Fiction:
Sally Parsonson, Ph.D
Large Conference Room
This class discusses the evidences of our faith as depicted in fiction. Each week we read a story from an anthology of short stories (for homework) and then discuss in the Sunday morning group how the author’s vision pulls us into a story and illuminates our own experiences of faith. The anthology will be available for purchase in class. Faith & Fiction will be in session until March 31.
Small Conference Room
Our friend Jessie Murray will teach a class for those that have wanted to learn Spanish in their lives but maybe never had the time. Join her as she teaches the basics of conversation en español in the small conference room. Buena suerte! Classes will not be held Feb 24 or Mar 3.
