The Fourth Gospel – Jesus, as Jewish mystic, prophet, and Divine Logos:
Buddy Crawford’s class on the gospel of John meets in Christ Chapel. The book of John is one of the most popular, beloved, and most quoted books in the New Testament. It is in John that Jesus makes memorable and yet extraordinary statements about his identity and mission: "I am the bread of life" "I am the good shepherd " "I am the light of the world "I am the way, and the truth, and the life….” This class explores how the author tells the story of Jesus through Jewish imagery, festivals and holy days.

“Mere Morality: Applying the Ten Commandments Today” – Faith Forum Series in Inglett Hall:
Drawing on the texts of the Ten Commandments as they appear in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5, Bob Dannals and Lisa Zaina will explore these moral mandates as they relate to life in the 21st Century. We will spend six sessions attempting to discover what the commandments of the ancient covenant tell us about the will of God in our own day. Join us!

Faith and Fiction:
This class, led by Sally Parsonson, Ph.D. in the large conference room, discusses evidences of faith in fiction. We read a story from an anthology of short fiction and discuss on Sunday morning how the author’s vision pulls us into a story and illuminates our own experiences of religion and spiritual values. The anthology will be available for purchase in class. (Fall 2017 class dates are: October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 and November 5, 12, & 19.)
