Diocese Appoints Irma Guerra to Holy Innocents

Bishop Robert Wright has appointed Irma Guerra to serve Holy Innocents during her postulancy toward the priesthood.  As a postulant of the Diocese, Irma is preparing for ordination in two years.  The Bishop appoints postulants to parishes that will challenge the growth of the individual while also bringing the postulant’s gifts to the parish.

Irma is a native of Mexico having come to Atlanta in 1987.  After transferring her degrees and certifications here, she began teaching.  Currently, she teaches at Stewart Middle School in Douglasville.  A member of St. Benedict’s, Smyrna since 2006, she has been active in all aspects of the parish, including two choirs.

Irma will serve at Holy Innocents on Sundays, assisting as a lector and chalice bearer and working in pastoral care and outreach on a limited basis.

We will welcome her at the 10:30am liturgy this Sunday, April 12.  Be sure to extend our great HI hospitality to her.
