‘Lent’ with Us
Tomorrow the season of Lent will begin for us at Holy Innocents’ with our Ash Wednesday services. Set apart as a time and season for us to deepen our connections to God, self, and others, we invite you to join us as we take up the practices of prayer, fasting, self-examination, and deepening.
There are several ways for you to experience Lent with us this year. First, you can join us any Sunday during Lent for worship at 8, 9, 11:15 or 6. Our liturgies and services during Lent embrace the season in song, tone, and aesthetic. To experience Lent fully, we invite you to make worship with us a lenten practice.
Second, join us on Wednesday evenings for a meal and a discussion group. During Lent 2013, we will offer simple suppers of hearty soup and salad. The Rev. Alison Schultz and Rev. Zachary Thompson will also host two discussion groups on Reconciliation and Journaling and Parenting in Faith (respectively). Both of these groups will provide people with the opportunity to embrace the season of lent in community and in intentional conversation with one another.
Finally, connect your personal lenten practice to one of the communities of faith with whom we share seasoned relationships. A couple of online lenten studies that we will be following as a staff include:

This season, we invite you to ‘Lent with Us’ as we seek to deepen our connections to God, self, and one another. I pray that as we journey together, your sense of faith will be deepened, and your experience of self and God enlargened.
