Pentecost, Cupcakes, Babies, and Sending Forth

Pentecost, Cupcakes, Babies, and Sending Forth

This Sunday promises to be one of those spectacular Holy Innocents days!  We will gather at all services to celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the Church.  The Feast remembers the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Body of Christ and is always a festive celebration of red, multiple languages, and fun festivities.

This year, we’re asking all to bring cupcakes to share between the 9:00 and 11:15 liturgies.  We will gather in Inglett Hall around 10:15 to enjoy homemade and favorite bakery cupcakes of all shapes, sizes, and flavors. It will be a wonderful chance to reconnect with many HI friends.

Our 9:00 liturgy will feature baptisms and our 11:15 will include prayers and sending forth for our organist and choirmaster David Brensinger’s sabbatical.  David will enjoy well earned rest from May 15 to August 15 and return this fall to begin his 30th year among us.  Come at 11:15 to help us honor and send him forth for renewal.

At our Celtic, we will also celebrate a baptism.  Come enjoy that grand liturgy of the day if you aren’t able to join us in the morning.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we share in all that God is calling us toward at your Place for Faith.

Come, Holy Spirit!
