Summer Service Times

We all love summer. Slightly more relaxed days, fresh produce, and a little less traffic during the week all add up for some of the best days of the year. We also love how our parish family comes together for Sunday breakfasts, renewing and sustaining friendships old and new.
Several years ago, we changed our summer schedule to 8:00 and 10:30 to accommodate logistics during construction. When our renovations were complete, we kept the schedule because of input from parishioners, especially those who liked the early service. An unintended consequence was less community interaction at summer breakfasts.
Parishioners have suggested changing to an 8:00 and 10:00 schedule for the summer. This time frame allows both morning services to attend the breakfast at 9:00 while also honoring both those who like an early service and those who want to come later but still have the summer Sunday opportunities of pools, picnics, and other events.
After input from parishioners, staff, and wardens, we are going to try this schedule beginning on May 22, the day of our Parish Picnic. This schedule will continue until September 18 when we will return to 8:00, 9:00, and 11:15. On Sunday, September 11, we will keep the two morning services. That day we will offer our typical early service but the 10:00 service will include members of the Sandy Springs Police and Fire Rescue Departments as we remember the 15th anniversary of 9-11. Special music, prayers, and a blessing of our local first responders are planned.
We look forward to seeing how this summer schedule works and thank you for your devotion to God at your place for faith, Holy Innocents.
Grace and peace,
