The Very Rev. Joshua Case Accepts New Position

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that the Rev. Joshua Case has accepted a new ministry position as Associate Rector at Christ Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be leaving us in early May -- Please see Joshua's note to the congregation, below. I have asked Joshua to teach in the Faith Forum on Sunday, April 30, and to preach that day at 6pm, and to be the preacher at all the morning services on his last Sunday, May 7. Joshua's last day in the office will be Thursday, May 4.

Joshua's priesthood, like several outreach endeavors to which he is attached, have emerged before this parish's eyes. In a short time, Joshua has worn many important hats at Holy Innocents', most recently with mission, outreach and social justice. He has become a very fine preacher and teacher, and a compassionate outreach organizer. He, Laura, and their children have brightened the life of this parish and they will be missed.

On Sunday, May 7, we will have a thanksgiving reception for the Case family at 10am in the Commons. If you would like to make a gift to a cash purse for Joshua, please send your check (marked HIEC Joshua Case Purse, in the memo line) to the church -- 805 Mt. Vernon Hwy., NW, Atlanta, GA. 30327.  Please join us on the May 7, and if you need to be away, I invite you to send a note of gratitude to Joshua at his church e-mail address: .

I will be meeting with the Missional Core, the outreach committee, in the near future to chart a course for the outreach efforts of this parish for the coming months. Please pray for this transition, for Joshua as he prepares for a new ministry, and for the missional lay leaders of Holy Innocents'.

The Rev. Dr. Bob Dannals
Interim Rector

Keep Plotting Goodness

Dear Friends,

I am writing to let you know that I have accepted a call to serve as Associate Rector for Children, Youth and Families at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

My time with you these last five years have been some of the most formative, creative and mission-filled of any season I’ve known. You have been gracious, welcoming of my family as it has grown and always, always ready to love God as God calls you. For this and so much more, I am ever-thankful.

Over the course of the next few weeks there will be ample opportunities for us to share stories, to laugh and to be thankful for what God has done in our midst these years. I am so very thankful to have been a small part of animating with you God’s call to make Georgia a holier place for all God’s children. Laura, Gavroche, Geneva and I will always be thankful for the life we shared at HIEC and we will be eager to see what God does in your midst in the weeks, months and decades to come.

Please pray for us as we begin the journey of transition and for the people Christ Church Charlotte as they prepare to welcome us.

Keep the faith and keep plotting goodness!
The Very Rev. Joshua Case
