Holy Innocents’ values the role that youth play in our community and we offer many opportunities for young people to engage in church life. The youth group at Holy Innocents’ is called an Episcopal Youth Community, but is often referred to by its acronym, EYC. EYC is divided in to Junior EYC for Middle School youth and Senior EYC for High School youth. In addition to Senior EYC, weekly Bible Study is offered to our High School youth. EYC is an opportunity for fun, fellowship, community service and mission projects. EYC is the primary youth community at Holy Innocents’ and is a place where young people are encouraged to be themselves and to understand their role in the world as children of God.
While EYC is the most common way for youth involvement at Holy Innocents’, many other activities are available to our youth. We offer many options for our youth to assist in our regular worship services, including serving as an acolyte, singing in the choir, and becoming a lay reader. Our youth are also able to serve on the committees that carry out the ministry of the church. Holy Innocents’ is a welcoming home to all young people who are encouraged to learn, grow and participate fully as members of God’s Kingdom!
