Other projects include maintenance, repair or light construction work for Holy Innocents’ supported outreach ministries (such as Holy Comforter, Emmaus House, CAC, etc.), or work which would help senior parishioners stay comfortable in their homes. Our primary goal is to offer a variety of “1 day opportunities” for Holy Innocents’ parishioners.
Horizons
Contact:
Horizons Atlanta is an academic enrichment program designed to promote the potential of a diverse population of public school children from economically disadvantaged families. The program emphasizes academics, the arts, sports, swimming, and social growth, while seeking to positively affect students’ attitudes toward school and working to prevent a decline in academic skills over the summer. Students generally enter the program after they complete kindergarten and return each summer for nine consecutive summers. Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Sandy Springs hosts the program and provides in-kind classroom space and access to other facilities on campus.

Several times a year, we prepare supper at Holy Innocents’ which we then bring to serve and share in fellowship with our friends at the Church of the Holy Comforter. Participation in this outreach effort is very interactive and family friendly. Volunteers are needed to prepare the meals during day at Holy Innocents’, and/or serve the meals early evening at Holy Comforter. Haiti: Holy Innocents’ partnership with Paroisse Saint Matthieu
Contact:
Since 2003, Holy Innocents’ has been in partnership with Paroisse Saint Matthieu and her Priest-In-Charge the Rev. Jean Berthol Phanord through the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti – Partnership Program. Located just outside the city of Leogane, St. Matthieu is the mother church of six mission churches and three schools that serve over 1500 parishioners and between 600 – 700 students. The partnership program is a cooperative relationship of companionship and support. Throughout the years over 150 members of Holy Innocents’ Parish (church and school) have gone on pilgrimages to visit with our sisters and brothers at St. Matthieu and her missions, where in prayer, worship, and fellowship, deep bounds in the Living Body of Christ have been established. As well, generous financial contributions from Holy Innocents’ parishioners, through the Lent Starfish Project and other special contributions, have made possible the funding to help build or reconstruct three church buildings, including the mother church at St. Matthieu, and three schools. Financial contributions from Holy Innocents’ have help build a water purification station at St. Matthieu, and ongoing funding of meal program for the students and St. Matthieu as well as paying wages for teachers the three schools of: St. Matthieu, St. Jean Baptiste, and St. Marguerite.
