Building Renderings

Below you will find TVS Design renderings that are proposed for our new space at HIEC. Please note that our current Nave will not be altered. To see a larger view of each, please click the individual pictures.
Chapel:
Below is a hand painted water color design of a future chapel which will include seating for 100 to 125 people, allowing for the privacy needed for weddings and funerals as well as for pastoral use. The chapel will incorporate wood and glass, using skylights as well as both clear and colored glass windows to communicate the mystery of Christ. The chapel will be on direct axis to the church proper –their altars facing each other – so that the chapel will enhance Sunday worship as well. Processions will form in the chapel and walk the axis through the narthex into the church, creating the feeling of a longer nave. The chapel will be wired for audio and video from the church so that larger congregations, such as those on Easter or Christmas, will worship together.
Overall Building Design:
Below you will find the most recent updated design of the overall building. When complete, our project will provide improved parking and accessibility, a prayer room or oratory for 15, ample meeting rooms, a dedicated kitchen, youth classrooms and activity space, several conference rooms, a parlor, multi-purpose rooms, common areas, worship support, music rehearsal/performance rooms, a chapel for most weddings and funerals plus our Sunday evening services, administrative offices, and a nursery.
Rear Exterior View:
Below you will see the proposal for the exterior view from the rear, north entrance of the building.
Chapel Interior
Below is a rendering of chapel interior facing south towards the Narthex.
Front Entrance:
A new front entrance will define the entrance into Holy Innocents.' The covered canopy that runs from the curb to the front doors will create an easy and protected drop off point for parishioners as they enter the church. Adjacent to the canopy will be a distinctive spire, which will clearly identify the main entrance into the church.
Narthex:
A new Narthex, clearly marked as entry into the church, will stretch in a crescent shape around the Sanctuary from the Mount Vernon side of the church to the Powers Ferry side, welcoming all with space for fellowship, receptions and information display. The narthex will have equal doors on each end to allow use of both parking lots. A covered walkway and porte-cochere, with additional handicapped parking, will improve accessibility. Fourteen gracious niches will incorporate Stations of the Cross along the wooden walls of the narthex.
The Commons:
Perhaps the most dramatic change with these plans will be the addition of a large Commons. This large indoor gathering space is directly tied to the Narthex, creating a community center for people to enjoy casual conversation before or after services and other events. A signature fireplace will warm the room.
Youth Complex
The Youth Complex will create a much-desired dedicated space for youth, clearly demonstrating their priority at Holy Innocents’. A terrace, which will also function as a small amphitheater, can be used for outdoor activities, and youth will enjoy a large indoor area as well as four, glass-front breakout rooms. A coffee house atmosphere with the latest communications tools will encourage after-school use of the facility for homework, youth ministry and fun.
