This ministry of the Diocese of Atlanta, located in the Peoplestown community just south of Turner Field, focuses on children and senior adults. A summer program gives neighborhood children academic assistance as well as recreational and cultural activities. Other children’s programs include after-school tutoring, Christmas stockings and gifts, and Sunday school and worship at Emmaus Chapel. The seniors meet in Ezzard Hall three days a week for Bible study, fellowship, arts and meals. The Poverty Rights Office assists a constant stream of clients. HI youth and adults have participated in service projects at Emmaus House. Numerous volunteer opportunities include general office assistants, receptionists, gardeners, those with Microsoft Access skills, tutors, Poverty Rights Office volunteers, cooks/servers for lunch with seniors, program providers for seniors or after-school children, van drivers and financial contributions.
