Horizons Atlanta’s mission is to assist children from diverse, low-income families to realize their full potential. During the six-week summer enrichment program, teachers from area schools create new learning experiences focused on math, science, literacy, the arts, music, swimming, and field trips. Horizons plans to develop year-round opportunities for its students emphasizing community service, academic success, and personal growth. The Parents’ Council organizes programs on various topics for the students’ parents. Volunteers assist in classroom, tutoring, swimming, field trip activities, and develop community resources to support the program.
